Coopshop Development is a minority-owned business that was started in 2000 by James V Cooper while attending graduate school at the University of Tulsa, where he earned a BS in Finance and Management Information Systems and a Masters in Business Administration. Initially, started by providing business valuations and analysis of exploration and production oil and gas firms for mergers and acquisitions (Coopshop Consulting & Business Services ).
After completing his MBA, Mr. Cooper went to work for Williams Communications as a Senior Financial Analyst and putting the development of Coopshop in slow motion. At Williams Communications, Mr. Cooper was responsible for the firms Venture Portfolio, called Strategic Investments (at one time valued at over $1.1 Billion). However, Mr. Cooper never lost his desire to develop Coopshop into a thriving company. At Williams, Mr. Cooper refined his analysis skills and began to analyze projects for Coopshop.
In 2001, Coopshop invested in imported African artworks valued at over $100,000 to form Coopshop Art (D.B.A.: Cultural Connection). In 2003, Coopshop invested in Holley Heights Addition by building a spec home and acquiring lots in the development and forming Coopshop Construction. Also in 2003, Coopshop invested in developing beauty products (Coopshop Beauty Products) and agreed to market medical supply products for Pinnacle Healthcare (Coopshop Medical Supply ). Mr. CooperÂ’s vision has always been to have a company that is diversified in its investments.
